Paul “Bo” Bollinger will retire as president and CEO of Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating at the end of 2026, closing a decade-long tenure that helped transform the Annapolis (MD) nonprofit from an organization facing serious financial trouble into a financially thriving, nationally recognized leader in accessible boating.
Bollinger first became involved with CRAB through a Wounded Warrior Sailing Regatta while working for Boeing. He later joined the board and stepped in as acting executive director in 2016, when the organization had roughly $20,000 in the bank and was operating its boating programs from Sandy Point State Park.
One of the biggest accomplishments of Bollinger’s tenure was the development of CRAB’s Adaptive Boating Center on Back Creek.
Bollinger helped secure millions of dollars in public and private funding for the project, which opened in April 2023. The fully accessible facility includes a floating dock, the Don Backe Learning Center and an open-air pavilion, giving CRAB a permanent Annapolis home designed specifically for people with disabilities. – Full report
