Introduction to Keelboat Racing

The Storm Trysail Foundation and the Storm Trysail Club have three Intercollegiate Offshore Regattas (IOR) in 2026:

Oct. 10-11 – Long Island Sound, Larchmont Yacht Club
Sept. 26-27 – Great Lakes, Chicago Yacht Club and Columbia Yacht Club
Nov 14-15 – Pacific Northwest, Seattle Corinthian Yacht Club.

The Storm Trysail’s mission with their IOR series is to help collegiate sailors transition from college dinghy sailing to keelboats and, eventually, offshore sailing. To facilitate this growth, a video series has been produced that each participating sailor is required to watch, but is also available for public viewing.

Seven videos feature notable experts in a range of topics:
