Seahorse Sailor of the Month

Published on October 1st, 2026

Seahorse magazine hosts a monthly poll to recognize recent achievement, and the November 2026 candidates are – remarkably – both from the USA:

CHARLOTTE ROSE (USA)
As well as being super-fast, witness her win of the 2026 ILCA 6 world title, the America One-backed sailor has also developed a reputation as one of the most intelligent racers in the fleet. With a youth career that also took in multiple world titles, since transitioning into senior competition, Rose has continued delivering strong performances against the world’s best. Qualifying for an Olympic team is never a given, but if you get through to LA 2028, then expect a target on your back!

SARA STONE (USA)
The only woman to win a title in the TP52 Super Series, several times in fact as a key cog in the wheel that is Quantum Racing. So we know this talented navigator and strategist can deliver inshore; now she adds to those solid credentials, with victory in The Ocean Race Atlantic navigating the IMOCA 60 of the brilliant but too often underrated (we know not why) Paul Meilhat. A round the world trip could yet beckon – that is if Terry can be persuaded to give her the time off.
