The ninth edition of the Foiling Awards, which seeks to highlight the best foiling sailors, products, projects and events of 2025, has 104 nominees that have been shortlisted. While people with some knowledge allegedly narrowed down the field, they now invite the public to select the winners.

As I contend any recognition of merit should be based solely on the achievement, and not impacted by popularity campaigns, I have little faith in the process to select the Foiling Award winners. But since they didn’t ask me, and the game is on, I am highlighting the North American nominees to attract support.

The public vote is open until February 20 with the winners to be announced March 17. Here are some of the categories:

FEMALE SAILOR – for the best female foiling sailor of a single-handed boat or board.
• Pearl Lattanzi (USA), Waszp Games Female Winner

MALE SAILOR – for the best male foiling sailor of a single-handed boat or board.
• Cash Berzolla (USA), GWA – Wave World Champion
• Justin Chait (USA), SFT E-Foil World Champion & Efoil Racing League ranking winner

INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY – for the best foiling technical advancement and/or solution (hull excluded), applicable on sailing and/or powered vessels and/or boards.
• Regent Craft (USA), foil and rudder design

FOILING PATHWAY – for the national federation or organization that realized the best foiling development and accessibility initiative.
• America One Racing (USA), dedicated to developing high-potential sailors and preparing them for success on the world stage.
