USA Sailor Ryan Breymaier is among America’s most prominent shorthanded offshore sailors.

He’s sailed around the world and holds the record for the ‘Golden Route’: New York to San Francisco by way of Cape Horn. He has just won the IMOCA Ocean Masters New York to Barcelona race, and plans next to participate in the Vendee Globe – the biggest solo round the world race.

Despite his success, he remains relatively unknown in the USA sporting world. This video was filmed in New York before the Ocean Masters race.
