Narragansett Bay welcomes BACARDI Newport Sailing Week

Newport, RI (June 26, 2015) – After hosting the Volvo Ocean Race stopover, the NYYC Annual Regatta and the J/111 World Championship, the focus this weekend on Narragansett Bay turns toward the BACARDI Newport Sailing Week presented by EFG. Hoping for warm weather and great sailing conditions, 50 boats will travel to the sailing capital of the world for the fifth edition of the event.

The event begins on Friday, June 26, with registration and opening party, and then on Saturday, June 27, the Star, J/70, Viper 640, VX One and Classic Day Racers will compete in Narragansett Bay until Sunday, June 28.

This year’s on the water activities are coordinated by Sail Newport in collaboration with the Newport Yacht Club and Long Wharf Marina. This year’s boats come from as far as Miami for Newport’s renowned racing conditions and elite competition.
