Eric Victor Pearson

Eric Victor Pearson, 67, of Jamestown RI for the past 40 years passed away unexpectedly last Saturday January 27, 2018 at Newport Hospital. Born in Bristol, RI to the late Albert and Muriel (Chace) Pearson of Weston, Massachusetts. Eric was one of two children. His brother Brad Pearson is a current resident of Jamestown RI.

He was employed with Brown and Sharpe as a tool maker for 10 years until its closing. He then worked for Hood Yachts Systems refurbishing gear boxes for their stoway furling systems. When they closed he then started his own business called Pearson Furling Systems which was operated from his residence on Jamestown for the past 20 years.

Anyone who knew Eric knows his passion for sailing and being on the water. He was a captain of the sea who never used a map and seemed to know his way around Narragansett Bay better than most. An avid Motorsports and golf fan he enjoyed going fast and making birdies. If it was broken he fixed it. If he didn’t know how he figured it out and made it work better. There was never a person that did not instantly get along with him, his smile lit up any room.

Eric is survived by his life partner of 23 years Margaret Tarbox of Jamestown RI; his son Christopher Pearson and his life partner Daphne; and his grandson Oliver all of Sherman Oaks, CA; his stepson Jarett Kelly and his wife Kelley of North Providence, RI; his stepdaughter Angela O’Connor and Stepson Eric Barry both from North Kingstown, RI.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 9am-12pm in the FAGAN-QUINN Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:30pm in Cedar Cemetery, Jamestown.
