2019 Witches Brew Race was held on October 26 in Charleston, SC.

There are some sailors in Charleston who put a lot of thought into their costumes for the Witches Brew Race, this year was one of the best.

Hurricane Dorian visited Charleston earlier this year and folks in Charleston are always on the look out for the dreadful visit of “The Weather Channel”. The skipper and crew of Emocean played on this spoof and their entry this year was “The Weather Channel”, they won first place.

The College of Charleston has been in the news recently about an outbreak of the Mumps. The CofC Sailing Team dressed as the “Mumps Response Unit” in Hazmat suits.

A local recognition is the “Fireball Vodka” which was developed here in Charleston, the J/105 Rumfront, decided to change to “Fire Front” for their boat theme.

Charleston is known as the “Holy City” as they have many churches, so, team Alliance came as “The Holy Ghosts”.

The sailboat “Cheers” couldn’t think of anything better, than to be “Cheer Leaders” for Cheers. (all were guys who embraced exposing bodacious ta ta’s, except, of course, there was a woman at the helm.)

There was a group of all ladies who played “Dancing Queen” and all were ladies who danced as they passed by the judging dock.

Last weekend, there was an Indiana Jones movie marathon, the inspiration for the sailboat Fate. The captain, looking like a handsome young Indy, along with his loin cloth dressed first mate did a cruise by as well.

Plenty of Pirates and Mermaids rounded out the group, Ruckus appears to have a shark who entered the boat from the back with the head coming out of the front hatch.
