PHOTOS: Herreshoff R Class Racing Sloop

Built in 1925, Gamecock is a Herreshoff R Class Racing Sloop. She was designed by “the Wizard of Bristol”, Captain Nat G. Herreshoff and built by the Herreshoff Manufacturing Company for the co-commodores of the New York Yacht Club, G. Nicholas and J.P. Morgan. She was restored in 2000s by Wooden Tangent in Mattapoisett, Mass and continuously maintained at the highest level by LMI, LLC. She is actively raced in New England in the summer.
