PHOTO: Innovation from the 27th America’s Cup

Here is the ‘Dolly’ spinnaker from the 27th America’s Cup, which was held in Fremantle, Western Australia from January 31-Februaary 4, 1987. The spinnaker was loaned to Louis Vuitton Cup winner Dennis Conner’s Stars & Stripes team after the New York Yacht Club’s effort failed to advance from the challenger series. She was named after Dolly Parton, who was also a bit big up top.
