Riva del Garda, Italy (August 29, 2018) – Lake Garda delivered more of the same champagne conditions on day three of the J/24 World Championship, with American Will Welles’ Kaster continuing the consistency that has kept his team on the top of the leaderboard.

After posting two second place finishes today’s pair of races, Welles now boasts a seven-point advantage over Nobuyuki Imai’s Siesta of Japan while Daniel Frost’s JJOne of Germany continued his ascent up the rankings with a 4-3 to move into third but 14 points off the lead. Hungarian Tomai Bala’zs, who had been second overall for the past two days, dropped to fifth after posting a 16-10.

Also climbing the rank today in the familiar 10-16 knot lake winds was Keith Whittemore (USA) who won the day with a 3-1 and now sits fourth overall. Seven of the 10 races are now complete with racing for the 89 teams from 14 countries being held August 27 to 31.
