2020 US Team Racing Champs cancelled

Published on August 18th, 2020

US Sailing and the Bristol Yacht Club (Bristol, RI) have cancelled the 2020 U.S. Team Racing Championship, planned for September 11-13, due to ongoing circumstances caused by the COVID-19 disease. Looking forward, Bristol Yacht Club will host the 2021 U.S. Team Racing Championship for the George R. Hinman Trophy next summer or fall. Specific dates for this event will be confirmed at a later time.

In the spring, following the disease outbreak, qualifiers for the 2020 championship were canceled and the event was transitioned to an invitation by resume event. The championship, raced in three-boat/six-person teams, was planning to sail the newly redesigned Zim 420E sailboats provided by Zim Sailing.
