An upwind leg worth sailing

Over 80 entrants are preparing to compete as ‘virtual’ racers in the Second Wind Regatta, a fundraiser to support one of America’s top junior sailors, Chris Williford. Diagnosed with leukemia at the end of 2012, Chris received a bone marrow transplant last month, but his upwind battle is just beginning. His hometown club, the Lauderdale Yacht Club, with support from around the world, has organized a fundraising regatta to benefit Chris through the Children’s Organ Transplant Association.
