USA early leader at Student Yachting World Cup

Pornic, France (October 14, 2013) – The Student Yachting World Cup got underway today for the 14 teams, with three windward leeward courses and a coastal race completed. With all teams using identical J/80s, the early leader is the US Naval Academy that is representing the United States. Racing continues to October 19.

At the end of the first day of racing, here is the provisional ranking:
1 -USA, 16 points
2 -FRA, 18 points
3 -SCO, 20 points
4 -IRL, 22 points
5 -SUI, 25 points
6 -AUS, 25 points
7- ENG, 25 points
8- BEL, 26 points
9- DEF, 29 points
10- NOR, 37 points
11- FRAX, 42 points
12- JPN, 44 points
13- GER, 45 points
14- CHN, 52 points
