USA Selection Process for Youth Match Racing World Championship

ISAF will be running the inaugural Youth Match Racing World Championship on July 21-27, 2014, in Helsinki, Finland. Racing will be conducted in J/80s. Sailors must be under 23 in 2014 in order to compete. The selection process for USA skippers representing the U.S. will be by resume.

In order to be considered for selection, skippers must meet these eligibility criteria:
– They must be current members of US Sailing when competing in the ISAF Youth Match Racing Worlds
– They must be a US citizen or eligible permanent resident with written authorization from ISAF for an exemption under ISAF Regulation 24.5.4
– They must meet the eligibility requirements of ISAF regulation 19, Eligibility Code (which can be found at: http://rulesdocs.ussailing.org, under “Additional Resources”)
– They must not have turned 23 years of age as of December 31, 2014

The selection procedure and application form will be posted there on February 12, 2014. Applications must be submitted by April 15, 2014.
