The April 1 edition of the newsletter, along with April Fools content published on the Scuttlebutt website, is completely written by Scuttlebutt readers who are empowered to seek out all sectors of the sport… and have a little fun with it.

When reading stories today in Scuttlebutt Sailing News, the April 1 date along with the ‘April Fools‘ tag at the bottom of the page is confirmation that the content is for folly only.

There is long history at Scuttlebutt for supporting this silly tradition, and while we enjoy a laugh as much as anyone, we also have great respect for the sport and the people who play the game. We will promptly return to our core tenets once this informal holiday has passed.
