VIDEO: Kiting and windsurfing, speed and freestyle

American kiter Rob Douglas won the 2014 Sosh Cup at the Mondial du Vent, a speed event in Leucate, France between the worlds fastest kiters and windsurfers. Held April 26 through May 4, 51 men and 8 women competed on the 500 meter course. Using Cabrinha kites, Douglas’ best speed of 46.53 knots also set a new course record.

Douglas called Mondial du Vent “the best kitesurf /windsurf speed and freestyle event in the world.”
