Top Eight teams advance at Governor’s Cup

Corona del Mar, CA (July 16, 2014) -The twelve youth match race teams completed the first round robin at the Governor’s Cup, with conditions permitting five flights at this International Junior Match Race Championship. Defending champion Sam Gilmour from Australia’s Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club ran the table today, winning all five races to sit behind only local Christophe Killian, who is racing in the event for the first time.

With the first round robin of eleven flights completed, the top eight teams will now complete a round robin series to see which top four teams advance to the Semi-Finals. Meanwhile, the bottom four will sail in a triple round robin for the Silver Flight.

Racing will continue through Saturday.
