New Around Britain and Ireland Outright Women Record

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified of a new Around Britain and Ireland outright Women world record. Set by Sam Davies (GBR) and crew on the VO65 Team SCA on August 11 – 16, the new 1733nm record is 4 days 21 hours 00 minutes and 39 seconds (average speed 15.15 knots). The previous record of 6d 11h 30m 53s was set by Dee Caffari (GBR) and crew on the Open 60 Aviva in June 2009. Source
