Morvan dominates USA Match Racing Grand Slam

Oyster Bay, NY (September 7, 2014) – In the dying afternoon breeze at the Oakcliff International, Pierre-Antoine Morvan crossed the finish line for the third time ahead of Chris Steele to take the event 3-1.

Morvan and team exchanged hugs and high fives as they celebrated their victory. “I am really happy with my team’s performance,” said Morvan with a huge grin across his face. “I am very thankful for my team and their support. They are a major part of my success.”

Oakcliff International was the fourth and final event of the 2014 USA Grand Slam series, which also included the Chicago Grand Slam (August 15-17), Detroit Cup (August 21-24), and Knickerbocker Cup (August 28-31).

Morvan won the Grand Slam series, which qualifies him for the 2015 Chicago Match Cup, a stop on the Alpari World Match Racing Tour, and the 2015 Congressional Cup. Morvan was on the podium at every Grand Slam stop, winning two of the four events.

In the Petit Finals, Christopher Poole (Riptide Racing) and Eric Monnin went head to head battling for third place, with Monnin winning the match 2-0.

Steele and Monnin also finished second and third in the USA Grand Slam series.
