Miami to get hot with Star Winter Series

Published on October 2nd, 2014

The history of the International Star Class is perhaps the richest of any keelboat in the world, and much of that history has been written in South Florida. The Star Winter Series hopes to attract class enthusiasts to Biscayne Bay for its third year of hosting a four-event series between November and January in Miami, FL.

While the series attracts some of the biggest names in the class such as Paul Cayard, Augie Diaz, Lars Grael, and George Szabo, it also provides an opportunity for newer sailors to try their hand at the most successful keelboat of all time.

The Star Winter Series, which begins on November 22-23, will also provide ideal training for other upcoming Miami events: 2015 Bacardi Cup in March, 2015 Western Hemisphere Championship in April, and 2016 Star Class World Championship.
