Sailing is my life and my passion. Being on boats and on the water is so natural for us, in my family, that I cannot even imagine existing without it. When I had the accident that almost cost me my life, I remember that after the natural concern with my survival, the second thing that most frightened me was the possibility of not sailing anymore. And when, just a few months later, I got on a sailboat again, I felt an indescribable joy.

I’ve been lucky to sail in many different types of boats in many waters all over the globe, but for me, the ultimate in sailing is still the Tornado Class. The old Tornados, in a fresh breeze, close reaching in the former Olympic triangle course, represent ultimate sailing to me: a fast pleasure in all its greatness.
