458839-546b635e6b4fa-shrink-x180As a result of pancreatic cancer on Monday November 17, 2014, Sandy Gordon of Ontario, CAN passed away at age 63. A talented businessman of the former Gordon Marine Ltd., a passionate motorcyclist, reader, snowboarder, hockey player and sailor, Sandy lived his life well and honorably.

“It is another sad day in the marine community,” reflects Gregory Scott. “Far too young indeed, Sandy was a vibrant and welcoming member of the business that he and his family ran until the sale last fall. Representing iconic brands and offering great service, they were the face of the Gananoque marine community for decades. From the ‘mom and dad’ beginning, the ‘kids’ all found places in the business and took over, whether it was sail or power – Lasers to trawlers and all that encompassed the range of products – all done well with that cheery demeanor that defined the Gordon Marine brand.”

Sandy leaves behind his beloved wife Sheila, cherished children Meghan (Mike), George (Ana) and best friend Don MacPhail. Survived by dear parents Jean and Ken, siblings and families of Jan (Paul), Don (Penny), Neil (Debbie), Ross (Susie), affectionate brothers-in-laws Joe (Maire) and Brian (Bonnie) Yule.

Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Tompkins Funeral Home 63 Garden St. Gananoque on Friday (Nov. 21) from 6-9pm. A reception will be held at the Gananoque Inn 550 Stone St. S. on Saturday November 22 from 1-4pm for a toast to Sandy’s life and memory. In life Sandy donated generously and spontaneously to individuals in need. Please feel free to do the same, or to a charity of your choice.
