Sailing on chopping block at University of Hawaii

(February 12, 2015) – The University of Hawaii’s athletics department is proposing in a new report to abate its growing budget deficit by cutting sports and raising fees, while a new set of NCAA rules affecting student-athlete scholarships could add another $1 million to the department’s annual costs. Women’s sailing and coed sailing are among the sports getting considered for elimination. Full report.
