Rising from the ashes

Brown University has reached an agreement with the Edgewood Yacht Club (Providence, RI) on the construction of a new yacht club to be shared between the Edgewood Yacht Club, the Brown University Yacht Club, and Brown’s sailing team. Brown’s sailing team used the Edgewood Yacht Club from 1999 to 2011 before a fire destroyed the building on upper Narragansett Bay. The team has continued to practice and compete at Edgewood under temporary accommodations. Construction of the new facility will be complete by mid-2016. – Providence Journal
