Boating death by entrapment

Published on May 5th, 2015

A girl died in a boating accident when trapped under her 16-foot speedboat after it hit a wave and capsized off Brixham in the south-west of England on May 2. Emily Gardner, 14, was with two friends, both girls aged 15, and a 50-year-old man when the boat overturned and her buoyancy aid snagged on part of the boat. The others on the boat and some jet skiers were unable to free Emily, with her death being treated as a tragic accident. The group was on holiday at the time of the accident, and Emily was with a friend’s family. – BBC story
