For the Record: Longest Singlehanded Distance in a Dinghy

Robert Suhay will attempt to break the Guinness World Record he set for the longest singlehanded distance sailed in a dinghy by a male. The current record is 283.5 nm, which Suhay set in Maryland on July 2, 2014. His latest effort, sailing a 14-foot Laser, will go from Beaufort, NC to Annapolis, MD, a distance of about 340 nm that will take him around Cape Hatteras. Launch date is July 4th weekend, but dates and route may be subject to change due to weather or technical issues.
