VIDEO: Truth in Advertising

The 2015 Holy Gale event was held June 24-28 on Smith Creek Dry Lake in Nevada, the site of the 2014 Landsailing World Championship. In this video clip, the desert lives up to its legend as being a very dynamic place to sail – or just survive! Winds clocked to the high 60s and did some major damage to minor damage as it blew through the camp – sending toy haulers and tent campers rolling end for end across the playa. Most damage was limited to a lot of stuff getting blown a mile or two into the playa.
