VIDEO: Fast got faster

Published on April 13th, 2023

After Emirates Team New Zealand and Glenn Ashby set a new wind-powered land sailing world speed record of 222.43km/h in their craft Horonuku on December 11, 2022, they have now raised the bar to 225.58km/h.

“In February we were really coming back to the lake pack up the craft,” explained Ashby. “We had to get Horonuku and the containers back to New Zealand. But a few days out, Clouds our Meteorologist indicated there was a possible weather opportunity, so we rattled our daggs and got to the lake.”
