NA KiteFoil Champs 2016 to be held at “Lord of the Wind”

Lord of the Wind, the international kiteboard competition held on the East Cape of Baja California Mexico, announces that the 2016 event will be the IKA North American Kitefoil Championship.

Total prize money has increased to $22,000 USD. Lord of the Wind will now consist of three professional events and three open division events. The professionals will race in foil course, slalom and freestyle competitions. The open divisions will compete in slalom, big air, boarder-cross and SUP.

Six parties will be held around the community, bringing together the competitors with the friendly Mexican traditions.

Unique to the 2016 event is the addition of international television coverage. Working with our partner Icarus Media, each day’s activities will be televised to over 98 countries on 20 networks. So whether you’re from Spain, France, China or the US, your local home town friends can keep a supportive eye on you.

Lord of the Wind is held on the East Cape of Baja, known worldwide for its warm water, consistent winds and great beaches. This event is organized by the Los Barriles Cabo del Este Rotary Club with all proceeds to help the communities of the East Cape, Baja.
