VIDEO: The Seabin Project

Published on October 13th, 2015

The Seabin is an automated marina rubbish collection device located in the water of marinas collecting all floating rubbish, oils, fuels and detergents… 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The product is still in testing phase and is researching how best to power it. Here is the current status on power:

“At the moment for ease of use we are using 220vlt shore power. But we are researching alternative power sources to enable the Seabin to have a lower carbon footprint. Our goal is to have the Seabin produced in the most eco-friendly way possible using sustainable materials and energy.

“Imagine we have a Seabin made entirely of our own captured and recycled plastics and powered by wind, wave or solar… this is our goal! But we need help to develop the Seabin. We are launching a Kickstarter campaign start of November to help us achieve our goal”
