Qualifying Complete at Laser Europeans

Las Palmas, Spain (March 1, 2016) – The third day of the Laser European Championships received very shifty 6 to 16 knot winds, and when combined with very big waves, made it quite difficult for sailors today.

The qualifying rounds have finished and tomorrow will start the finals for the Olympic Laser and Women’s Laser Radial fleets.

Current world champion Nick Thompson (GBR) leads the 124-boat Laser fleet with Charlie Buckingham (USA) in 13th.

Marit Bouwmeester (NED) and Josefin Olsson (SWE) lead the 96-boat Laser Radial Women’s fleet with Paige Railey (USA) in 9th.

Marcin Rudawski (POL) leads the 41-boat Laser Radial Men’s fleet with Henry Marshall (USA) in 9th.

Tomorrow there are two races scheduled for Laser and Women’s Laser Radial, while the Laser Radial Men will have 3 races.

Racing is scheduled from February 28 to March 4. Event details
