USA Nacra 17 team four points from podium

Portsmouth, RI (June 11, 2016) – US Sailing Team Sperry Nacra 17 athletes Bora Gulari (Detroit, Mich.) and Louisa Chafee (Warwick, R.I.) finished the final day of full-fleet racing at Sailing World Cup Weymouth and Portland (United Kingdom) in 6th overall, and earned a berth in Sunday’s medal race. Gulari and Chafee are currently four points from podium position heading into the double-points medal race, which will be broadcast live in the U.S. on WatchESPN (ESPN3) at 6:00AM EST.

The American Nacra 17 team, who will compete at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games in August, are the only Team USA athletes competing this week in southern England. Two-time Moth World Champion and 2009 US Sailing Rolex Yachtsman of the Year Gulari and college All-American Chafee will both be making their first Olympic Games appearance.
