2016 Sail Canada Sail East Championships

Published on June 22nd, 2016

Charlottetown Yacht Club (CYC) will be hosting the 2016 Sail Canada Sail East Championships from July 21-24 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island (PEI). CYC is located on one of the most scenic points of the Charlottetown waterfront, with a panoramic view of the Harbour. It has been four years since the Sail East Championship was hosted in PEI. This year’s event will be a four-day affair: two training days and two racing days. Sailors will be competing in the 29er, 420, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, and Optimist classes.

The two days of group training prior to the event will be run by knowledgeable and experienced coaches, including Agustin Ferrario. Agustin is the head coach from Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron who has extensive coaching and leadership experience, including Youth Worlds Team Leader in 2011 (Zadar, Croatia), 2013 (Limassol, Cyprus), 2104 (Tavira, Portugal), and 2015 (Langkawi, Malaysia).

Agustin is a certified Sail Canada Development Coach who has been instrumental in the development of a strong provincial race program in Nova Scotia. Sailors from all clubs and teams are encouraged to take advantage of the group training and the opportunity to get tips from some of the regions best coaches, like Agustin.

Do not miss out on the chance to learn at Charlottetown Yacht Club and compete at the 2016 Sail Canada Sail East Championships presented by Volvo Cars of Canada. Take advantage of the Early Bird Pricing until July 15.
