America’s Cup: Testing, Testing, Testing

Published on July 11th, 2016

All six America’s Cup teams have now launched test boats in preparation for the 35th America’s Cup. As the rules do not permit the teams to launch their official 15-meter America’s Cup Class yacht more than 150 days prior to the competition, the test boats fit within a loophole in the rules that permit test boats which can have the same beams and rig of the ACC but must have the hulls from the AC45 Class used in the AC World Series. Emirates Team New Zealand and Groupama Team France were the final teams to launch their test boats.
