Annual Cruiser Rally to Start on Halloween

Published on October 27th, 2016

The 23rd annual 750 nm Baja Ha-Ha cruiser rally from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas will start with a fireboat led parade out of San Diego Bay on October 31. The rally has R&R stops at Turtle Bay and Bahia Santa Maria. Because it’s a rally, about one-fourth of the fleet will not be using spinnakers or gennakers. Because it’s rally, motoring is also allowed for safety and/or comfort.

There are 183 entries this year, including nine multihulls and five motor yachts. The smallest boat is Thomas Carr’s 19-ft Mirror Offshore, which got special dispensation for being less than the normal 27-ft minimum length. The largest vessel is the 92-ft Golden Rose motor yacht from Portland. The largest sailboat is the Irwin 65 Jersey Girl from, where else, New Jersey.
