VIDEO: Iceboats on Lake Kegonsa

The Four Lakes Ice Yacht Club held an informal fun regatta, The Grand Slam, on Lake Kegonsa near Madison, WI December 31, 2016-January 1, 2017. Five classes of iceboats competed on the first ice of the season, including A Skeeters, the fastest iceboats on the planet.

Current A Skeeter champion, Steve Orlebeke, who won last season’s International Skeeter Association title and Northwest regatta title, provides the videos below. Steve, an engineer at Harken, sails Peter Harken’s front seater, Honeybucket, which was built by the 4LIYC’s Bill Mattison.
