32nd Star Zagarino Masters Championship

Published on February 5th, 2017

Twenty-nine teams competed in the 32nd Star Zagarino Masters Championship, held February 4-5 at Coral Reef Yacht Club in Miami, FL.

Two races were held on day one in the 5-7 knot range out of the Northeast, trending right with the sea breeze and NE battling all day. Augie Diaz with crew Arnis Baltins sailed a 1-1 followed by Joe Londrigan with Stuart MacIntosh crewing and Larry Whipple and Austin Sperry rounding out the top 3. A lack of wind on day two concluded the event.

Al Cullen and son Rob won the Father-Son award with Tony and Mark Hermann winning the Exalted Grand Masters division. Three world champions were in attendance (Diaz, Londrigan, and Mark Reynolds) with sailors representing Europe, South America, Canada, and USA. Full results.
