Positive Forecast for Huntington Lake

Huntington Lake, a California reservoir in the Sierra Nevada at an elevation of 6955-feet, has benefited from the above average western rainfall and will be open for competition in 2017.
After drought conditions in California had halted racing at Huntington Lake in 2014 and 2015, rising waters in 2016 got boats back on the water with conditions continuing to improve this year.
Fresno Yacht Club, which hosts several events on Huntington Lake, has planned an aggressive sailing program between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
June 24-25, 2017. The Commodores’ Regatta is sponsored by MHRA and is focused on catamaran sailing. There are also a number of non-catamaran one design and handicap spots. Watch for the NOR on Regatta Network.
July 8-9, 2017. Huntington Lake High Sierra Regatta weekend #1. This weekend of the invitational regatta focuses on one design dinghy classes and this year the Victory 21 fleet.
July 10-11, 2017. The 2017 Daysailer National Championship Regatta will be held during the week between the 2 High Sierra Regattas.
July 15-16, 2017. Huntington Lake High Sierra Regatta weekend #2. This weekend of the invitational regatta focuses on one design keel classes and the local PHRF fleet.
July 20-23, 2017. The San Juan National Championship Regatta will be held starting on the Thursday following the High Sierra Regattas.
July 22-23, 2017. Annually Mercury sailors gather for a major event that involves lots of sailing and a couple of major parties.
August 5-6, 2017. Hobie Mile High Regatta.
