Isle of Wight Record Confirmed

The World Sailing Speed Record Council has confirmed a new outright monohull World Record for the 50nm Around Isle of Wight course. The new record was set by skipper Xabi Fernandez (ESP) and crew sailing the Volvo Open 65 Mapre to a time of 03:13:11 (15.53 knot avg) on August 2, 2017. The previous time of 03:43:50 was set by Mike Slate’s maxi Leopard.
