Miami boat shows to merge in 2018

Published on August 16th, 2017

The Progressive Insurance Strictly Sail Miami and the Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show have agreed to create a singular event at the Miami Marine Stadium on February 15-19, 2018.

The Progressive Strictly Sail Miami show, which was previously held at Miamarina at Bayside at the same time as the Progressive Miami International Boat Show, will bring nearly 100 sailboats to its new home within Miami Marine Stadium’s extensive deep water basin. As a result, the show will feature 700 or more boats in-water and a land exhibition at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show, bringing together more sailing and related marine products for attendees to view and buy.

“The decision to combine these two world-class events is due in large part to feedback from sail and power exhibitors as well as attendees, for a single streamlined experience that encompasses all the boating industry has to offer,” said Ben Wold, executive vice president of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, producers of the event. “We’ve built the ideal, most picturesque boat show venue at Miami Marine Stadium that’s perfect for both power and sail and bringing these two shows together will without a doubt deliver the ultimate boat show experience.”

Sailboats and catamarans are being featured in a sail-specific in-water section at Miami Marine Stadium. To provide a cohesive experience for exhibitors and attendees, sailing accessories, sail travel and charter experiences, and other sail-focused booth displays, will be featured in a special sail area on-land at the Progressive Miami International Boat Show.
