Carraway, Hou win High School Singlehanded Nationals

The top 36 singlehanded high school sailors from around the USA competed in the 2017 Cressy High School Singlehanded Championship, held October 28-29 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Light winds on the first day limited racing but a better winds on day two allowed for a 13-race series. Winning the Laser Radial fleet by one point was Chase Carraway ’18 for Cape Fear Academy (Wilmington, NC) while Joseph Hou ’18 for Newport Harbor (Newport Beach, CA) had an eight point margin in the Laser Full Rig division.
