Qualifying complete at 29er Worlds

Published on January 5th, 2018

(January 5, 2018) – The final four races of the qualifying series for the 2018 29er World Championship were held today off the Po Toi Islands in Hong Kong.

To the relief of the sailors, the breeze dropped from the previous two days to a 10kt North Easterly. The breeze was fluky making a difficult race track that was heavily favoured toward the left.

The qualifying series advanced the top half of the ranked teams into the gold fleet, with the 10-race final series kicking off tomorrow to determine the 2018 World Champion.

Racing for 58 teams from 11 countries is planned from January 3 to 8.
