Scholarships for weather symposium

Published on January 17th, 2018

In its latest effort to promote on-the-water safety, the Cruising Club of America (CCA) is offering 10 scholarships to its upcoming Weather Symposium, February 10, 2018, at the MITAGS Conference Center (692 Maritime Blvd, Linthicum Heights, MD 21090).

The scholarships are available to sailors, especially younger sailors, with significant offshore sailing experience who are interested in marine weather fundamentals, forecasts and forecasting, and the role of the navigator, to improve their offshore cruising – and racing – experiences.

The CCA stations (Bermuda, Boston, Bras d’Or, Chesapeake, Essex, Florida, Great Lakes, New York, Pacific Northwest, San Francisco and Southern California) may identify qualified potential young candidates, but sailors with no connection to a local station can indicate their interest in attending by emailing membership@cruisingclub.org with their name, address and a brief summary of their offshore sailing experience.
