No go at Finn World Masters
Published on May 21st, 2018
El Balís, Spain (May 21, 2018) – The start of the Finn World Masters Championship will need to wait until tomorrow as the wind was not strong enough today for competition.
The 353 sailors were held for almost three hours in hopes of a sufficient South-Southeast wind but it was not strong enough to hold any races. A light breeze blew at some point up to five knots – the minimum to compete – but it failed rapidly.
The racing schedule remains the same for tomorrow with two races scheduled in what expects to be a Southwest wind from 6 to 9 variable knots.
A series of seven races is scheduled from May 21 to 24 with the final race and a medal race on May 25.
