VIDEO: Getting dirty on the playa

Dirtboater Scott Young reports:

“This video shows what its like to sail a Mini Skeeter and Blokart in 20-30mph winds. My wife (Patty) and I had a blast sailing our Land Yachts in some fairly high winds. The main difference in the two boats is the Mini (for the most part) stays planted on the playa and harnesses all the power from the wind, especially the higher gust. The Blokart, however, lifts quite a bit in the higher gust, so a lot of the potential wind energy is not able to be used. Blokarts can go extremely fast, but they need wind speeds over 40mph and must be sailed fairly deep to achieve high speeds.”
