Italians remain perfect at Youth Match Racing Worlds

Published on July 6th, 2018

Trentino, Italy (July 6, 2018) – The third day of the 2018 Youth Match Racing World Championship endured a rain storm which only allowed for the first round robin to be finished and for five flights of the second round.

Once the qualifying round robin stage is complete the top four advance to the knock-out round to determine the champion.

Italians Ettore Botticini with Lorenzo Gennari and Simone Busonero were perfect through the first round at 11-0 followed by the New Zealand crew of Nick Egnot-Johnson at 9-2 and American skipper Christopher Weis on 8-3.

While the Italians have stayed perfect in the second round, both Egnot-Johnson and Weis have stumbled in their early matches.

Racing is being held July 4-8 in J/22s on Lake Ledro in Trentino, Italy.
