Trentino, Italy (July 8, 2018) – Ettore Botticini with Lorenzo Gennari and Simone Busonero (ITA) were the form team throughout qualifying during the 2018 Youth Match Racing World Championship and the Italians carried their dominance in the knock out rounds to win the title.

After completing the double round robin qualifying stage, the final day of the 2018 Youth Match Racing World Championship had the top four teams – Botticini, Nick Egnot Johnson (NZL), Christopher Weis (USA), and Will Boulden (AUS) – advance to the semifinals.

Botticini dispatched Egnot Johnson while Boulden beat Weis, with Botticini winning the final over Boulden and Weis took the petite final over Egnot Johnson.

The Italian team, along with Arianna Botticini, were runner-up in 2017 to winner Harry Price (AUS) who now competes on the World Match Racing Tour.

Racing was held July 4-8 in J/22s on Lake Ledro in Trentino, Italy.
