Published on September 16th, 2018

Chattanooga, TN (September 16, 2018) – The 2018 Women’s Flying Scot North American Championship was held at Privateer Yacht Club on September 15-16.

Three races were held on the first day of the championship regatta in perfect conditions. Today was the opposite, the clouds overtook the area, a little rain and lots of wind greeted the racers on the water.

Five boats retired before the races and one retired after Race 1. With northwest winds blowing 15 with gusts in the 20s, the rest of the teams toughed it out on the racecourse. The wind moderated and built through both races.

With a perfect score of 5 points after 5 races, Mary Anne Hopper and her crew of Jennifer Draheim and Melissa Miller won the event.
