America’s Cup: Foil Cant System Revealed

Published on September 19th, 2018

The high performance fully foiling monohull racing yacht to be used in the 2021 America’s Cup will require newly-created innovation to perform as intended.

The foil cant system is the foundation for the AC75 which relies on the use of twin canting T-foils, ballasted to provide righting-moment when sailing, and roll stability at low speed.

The system for the AC75 has been in design for the past six months, and is one of the standardized parts that will be supplied to each team competing in the 36th edition.
